In this new age of artificial intelligence, I have managed to accomplish in one weekend what would have otherwise taken several weeks. After 12 years of my Rudy Van Gelder Collector’s Discography being grossly incomplete (the word “collector” being carefully chosen to tastefully imply its incompleteness), I can finally call the discography “complete”, or as close to complete as I can make it without corrections being suggested by viewers. For many years the discography was completely missing Verve, CTI, and all the latter-day independent jazz labels Van Gelder recorded for. It brings me great joy to say that everything is now included, and the total number of session dates has ballooned from 1,891 to 3,370.
